Government servants claiming huge amounts of money every year, for just about everything from staff salaries, taxi fares to flat screen TV, laptops, microwaves to kitchen sinks and bath taps is not new. The husband of the Home Secretary of Britain Jacqui Smith, who also works for her as her parliamentary adviser, however, has made claims on his wife’s official expenses, for expenses he incurred for watching adult movies. A hugely embarrassed Home Secretary apologized and said that the money claimed will be paid back. A sheepish Mr. Timney, whose wife did not know about his shenanigans offered a public apology.
